The latest entry in Ubisoft’s open-world FPS series has finally arrived. Far Cry 6 sees players heading to Yara to take down the corrupt regime of Anton Castillo, voiced and acted by Giancarlo Esposito. If you’ve been looking at gameplay online, you may have noticed that there’s a Far Cry 6 third person mode. Here’s everything you need to know about this new view for the series.
Far Cry 6 3rd Person View Explained
Far Cry 6 doesn’t allow players to switch to a third person view. For the most part, you’ll play through the adventure in a first-person view, and there’s only a few occasions where the game will automatically transition you into third-person. The important thing to note now, however, is that there is no button or option that can be toggled on or off to permanently switch the camera to a third-person perspective.
When Do You Switch to Third-Person View?
You’ll only be able to play in Far Cry 6’s third-person view when you’re exploring one of the three Guerrilla Base Camps or using your Supremo weapon.
There’s a Guerrilla Base Camp located in each of the game’s main regions of Yara, and it’s where you can build new facilities, spawn vehicles and where you’ll pick up most of your missions.
Is There a Third-Person Update or Mod Coming?
As of December 2021, Ubisoft has yet to announce an update for Far Cry 6 that would introduce a third-person mode to the game.
Similarly, the community has yet to release a mod that would allow players to switch between the first and third person camera angles at will.
