If you’re out exploring the vast wilderness of Aeternum then it’s important you establish a temporary base from which can replenish your health and, if necessary, use it as a respawn point in case you die. Here’s how to set up camp in New World in case you forgot the process during the tutorial or haven’t gotten there yet.
Setting Up Camp in New World
Fairly early on in New World’s main story, you will be tasked with setting up a camp, but given there are so many systems and mechanics to take in during this time we don’t blame you if you’ve forgotten. Thankfully, setting up camp is super easy.
To do so, you just need to hit the ‘Y’ key, then apply the necessary materials, which is x5 Greenwood nad x1 Flint.
Remember, though, you can only set up camp away from significant landmarks. You will actually see a little prompt at the bottom of the screen that reads ‘Camping Available’ when you have reached an appropriate spot. Roads are a safe bet for camps since you’re less likely to bump into any trouble, but wide open fields and such work well enough also.
Once you have your camp set up you can either rest by using the ‘T’ key, or open the crafting menu and create something useful. Remember, this new camp will also serve as your respawn point, so you will be prompted to ‘unbind’ from your previous camp when you next set up another one.
