The Mario Movie Casting Is Getting Meme’d Hard on Twitter

Mario Movie

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, then it is entirely likely you’ve heard the big news that came out of yesterday’s Nintendo Direct. No, no, we aren’t talking about that amazing-looking Kirby game or the gameplay trailer for Bayonetta 3. We’re talking about the true start of the show: the Mario movie.

Yes, Mario is once again getting another silver screen appearance, with this go-around set to be created by Despicable Me studio Illumination Entertainment. The fact that this movie is real wasn’t the biggest news of this announcement, though, as the star-studded cast that was revealed that seemed far too hilarious to be true.

Whether it was the odd choice to cast Chris Pratt as Mario or the hilarious idea of Seth Rogan being Donkey Kong, just about everything involved in the cast reveal was meme-worthy. As such, it makes complete sense that Twitter would be showing no mercy with the news, creating a bunch of great memes that you can see down below.

That’ll do it for now. We hope at least one of these Mario movie memes was able to make your day just a little brighter. Here is to hoping that we get some more crazy casting in the future, maybe for…Wario and Waluigi?
