As you progress your way through the story of Lost Judgment, you’ll eventually come to a point where a Shiba Inu is sitting outside of the Yokohama 99 Detective agency. You find out that this dog is known as the Detective Dog, and frequently stops by to help solve cases. Yamagi finds this out first hand when the dog barks at him and gives him his leash. How to Unlock Ranpo (Detective Dog) in Lost Judgment

After the cutscene, follow Ranpo. You’ll find that he pulls the leash toward where he wants to go so you don’t really have to do any work, and he’ll lead you to an orphanage. Listen to the worker then follow Ranpo again and you’ll find the mother of the boy who was left at the orphanage. Fight the yakuza trying to try and sell her then a cutscene shows her reunite with her son. You’ll get a text from Amasawa stating that Detective Dog is actually hers and that he is named Ranpo.

You can now call on him via the gadget screen on Yagami’s phone under the Detective Dog app. He also sits outside the agency so you can take him on walks to find cases.
