During today’s Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase, SEGA revealed another new character to join the all-star cast of Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania. That character joining Banana Mania’s roster of simian protagonists and SEGA characters alike is none other than Persona 5’s Morgana, the esteemed feline member of the Phantom Thieves.
Unlike previous revealed characters like Beat from Jet Set Radio, Sonic and Tails, and Kazuma Kiryu from Yakuza who can all be unlocked in the base game through normal play, Morgana will be Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania’s first paid, post-release DLC character, arriving Nov. 2, 2021 for $4.99.
Similar to the roster of SEGA’s all-stars that have already been revealed, Morgana in Banana Mania will be available in every game mode. In place of collecting bananas, fittingly Morgana will be able to collect treasure chests in levels.

Prior to the announcement of Morgana in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania, SEGA also shared a brand-new trailer featuring the 12 mini-games returning from the Super Monkey Ball series. Such mini-games include old favorites like Monkey Target, Monkey Bowling, Monkey Billiards, and Monkey Golf, to name a handful.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania is shaping up to be the most a-“peeling” entry in the Super Monkey Ball series in a long time, featuring remade and remixed stages from Super Monkey Ball 1, 2, and Deluxe, as well as multiplayer mini-game mayhem. That is in addition to the rather sizable selection of SEGA’s all-star characters whether unlockable or purchasable like Morgana.
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania will launch on all major current platforms, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC on Oct. 5, 2021. The game will cost $39.99 on consoles and $29.99 on PC.
