PUBG 12.2 Patch Brings New Map Taego and Respawn Mechanic

PUBG 12.2 Taego

As map size is (almost) everything in PUBG, Taego is the same 8×8 size as the map the game first started with, Erangel. This might be a good time for anyone looking to get back into the game. It is also important to note that this is the patch for Console versions of PUBG, the PC version received this patch late last month.

The patch notes have this to say about Taego:

Taego has diverse terrain and environments, with numerous towns, compounds, and unique points of interest across the Battleground. Be on the lookout for wildlife, with flocks of birds reacting to player movement and gunfire, giving you a potential early sign of danger ahead. Comeback BR and the Self AED are two new gameplay features exclusive to Taego, giving players a chance to get back into the fight.

Comeback BR is the mode mentioned in the title for being like the Gulag in Call of Duty Warzone.

Comeback BR is a Taego exclusive second-chance mechanic allowing players who die during the first Blue Zone phase the chance to drop back into the fight later in the match.

Players who die during the first Blue Zone phase battle it out in the Comeback Arena, a location separate from the main Taego Battleground. Survivors who remain alive long enough in the Comeback Arena are transported by helicopter back to the Taego mainland in phase 3 to resume their fight for the Chicken Dinner.

Slightly different from the Gulag, however is that players in the Comeback Arena are essentially thrown into a mini-Battle Royale. Players must hunt around for new loot (separate from being in the action) for the chance to be dropped back into the action. It doesn’t seem to be all about killing your fellow Comeback Arena participants, as the notes call out those who simply “remain alive long enough.”

You can find the rest of the Patch Notes here to see for yourself if you are going to be jumping into the new Taego map.

Did you know it was just this year that PUBG Mobile hit 1 billion downloads worldwide? How about PUBG Mobile being capable of 90 FPS?
