How to Imprint in NEO: The World Ends With You

The Imprint ability allows you to implant new ideas in the minds of the people you encounter throughout Shibuya. Since you’re in the Underground — a parallel world that exists outside of the real world — you can’t communicate directly with pedestrians and most people on the street.

Using Imprint allows you to influence their behavior by using keywords that you find as you explore. Scan using R1 on PlayStation or R on Switch to find an Implant target. They’ll have a red thought bubble above their head.

The game will then present you with keyword options to put together that can influence your target. Sometimes, you won’t have the keywords you need, so use your scan and interact with other people around town with red thought bubbles above their heads to find more keyword options.

General exploration will also allow you to unlock keywords, like the names of places or well-known buildings. Whenever you get a new keyword, it’ll show up in a golden outline on-screen.

When you finally have the keywords you want to use, return to your target and match up two words that’ll solve your problem and influence the person in a specific way.
