Breaking the barrier is quite simple; you just need to complete a single World Quest that tasks you with shooting it three separate times with cannons that are scattered around the island.

To kick things off, you need to accept the Tatara Tales World Quest from Toranosuke and Miyuki, who can be found at the Kujou Encampment on Kannanzuka. After that, you’ll then speak with Xavier who will task you with investigating three barrier rifts, which are indicated by three quest markers. After you’re done and have returned to him, he’ll send you back to blast those same rifts and break the barrier with cannons.

Finally, Xavier will ask you to use your camera to take a picture of the Storage Device at the Mikage Furnace and return to him with it.

Overall, the quest is really very simple and doesn’t involve any tricky puzzles or tough enemy encounters. Just be prepared to take down a few groups of pesky Fatui along the way.
