Crystal Cores come from interacting with the Crystaflies that exist in both Mondstadt, Liyue, and Dragonspine. They look like tiny sparkling butterflies and they’re fluter away from you as you get close to them. Crystalflies come in three different colors for different elements (Anemo, Cryo, and Geo), but they all provide the same materials.

They’re easy enough to catch though, so run up to them and press Square on PlayStation or F on PC to grab them and obtain Crystal Cores.

Using Crystal Cores for Crafting

The main use for Crystal Cores in Genshin Impact is to craft potions and other items. They can be used to create Frostshield Potions, Windbarrier Potions, an Adepti Seeker’s Stove, and Condensed Resin.

Frostshield Potions increase Cryo resistance for all party members by 25% for 300 seconds, while Windbarrier Potions do the exact same but they provide Anemo resistance. The Adepti Seeker’s Stove is a portable stove that can be used to cook food items anywhere, but it will break if you enter combat near it, so be careful with that.

The most useful crafting item that comes from Crystal Cores is Condensed Resin. Condensed Resin allows to activate Ley Line Blossoms and gain rewards from Domains. These are given to you as you complete missions, but they come in limited supply so it’s important to know how to craft them using Crystal Cores, Original Resin, and Mora.
