Earlier today, Sega unveiled a brand new remaster of their 2010 Wii and Nintendo DS title, Sonic Colors. Titled Sonic Colors: Ultimate, this version of the game will be available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch
In the trailer, we can already see the visual improvements that Sonic Colors: Ultimate brings to the table, as its graphics and colors pop considerably more thanks to current and next-gen hardware. Luckily, anyone that is eager to get their hands on this game won’t have to wait too long for it, as it releases on Sept. 7, 2021.
Pre-orders are also available today at Sega’s website. Anyone looking to reserve the Deluxe Edition of Sonic Colors: Ultimate will receive the following items alongside the game:

- Exclusive Music
- Gold & Sliver Wearables
- Exclusive Player Icons
- Sonic Movie Boost
That isn’t all the Sonic Colors news that we got, though, as Sonic voice actor Roger Craig Smith revealed that they would also be releasing a short-form animation that takes place in the world of Sonic Colors would be released. Titled Sonic Colors: Rise of the Wisps, you’ll follow a fully voiced cast of Sonic characters in an adventure to free all of the captured wisps.
