Today Bandai Namco released a new trailer of the upcoming cross-generation JRPG Scarlet Nexus.
The trailer features the animated opening cutscene of the game and its theme song “Dream in Drive” performed by Japanese rock band The Oral Cigarettes.
It also includes a nice look at the large cast of heroes we’ll be able to play with when the game launches.
You can check it out below.
If you’d like to see more of Scarlet Nexus, you can check out the latest gameplay from earlier today, two gameplay trailers, another showcasing locations, the previous promotional video, the original trailer, a gallery of screenshots, an earlier gameplay showcase presented by Anabuki-san himself and producer Keita Iizuka, more screenshots, and even more gameplay.
Of course, you should also read my own preview from a few months ago.
The game is coming for PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam on June 25 and is even getting a TV anime adaptation by acclaimed studio Sunrise.
If you’re unfamiliar with Scarlet Nexus, here’s how Bandai Namco describes it officially.
“In the far distant future, a psionic hormone has been discovered in the human brain, granting people extra-sensory powers and changing the world as we know it.
As humanity enters this new era, deranged mutants known as Others begin to descend from the sky with a hunger for human brains. Impervious to conventional weapons, those with acute extra-sensory abilities, known as psychics, are our only chance to fight the onslaught from above and preserve humanity.
Since that fateful day psychics have been scouted for their talents and recruited to the Other Suppression Force, humanity’s last line of defense.
Players will dive into a complex story of bonds, courage and heroism crafted by the minds behind the iconic TALES OF game, TALES OF VESPERIA. Using psycho-kinetic powers, the world becomes an important ally. Lift, break, and hurl pieces of the environment to build attack combos and lay waste to enemies.”
