Paradox Announces Tons of New Content For Crusader Kings 3, Empire of Sin, Prison Architect, & More

Today, during PDXCon Remixed, Paradox Interactive made several announcements of new content for its most popular games including Crusader Kings 3, Hearts of Iron IV, Stellaris, Empire of Sin, Prison Architect, and more.

Starting with Crusader Kings 3, we get the announcement of the first major expansion, Royal Court. At the moment, a release date has not been revealed.

“In Crusader Kings III: Royal Court, all of these new challenges confront you, as your courtiers clamor for attention. Royal Court is the first major expansion for Crusader Kings III, Paradox Development Studio’s critically-acclaimed strategy role-playing game about the medieval world. Powerful rulers can establish the kind of court that inspires troubadours, decorating it with relics from family history and favoring subjects with the answers to their many problems.”

Crusader Kings III: Royal Court includes:

  • Throne Room: A visual representation of your royal court will reflect all the accumulated majesty and prestige of your dynasty.
  • Hold Court: Interact with vassals and courtiers as they come to you with their problems, seeking a royal judgment.
  • Grandeur: Increase the quality of life at your court with fancier trappings and better food, all the better to impress your rivals and attract higher quality guests.
  • Inspired People: Talented artists, craftspeople and thinkers can work on new projects, adding treasures and artifacts to your court.
  • Hybrid Cultures: Make the most of a multicultural realm, developing a new way of life that is specifically adapted to your population and geography.
  • Cultural Divergence: split from your traditional culture, adapting it into something new that better fits your aspirations.

A major free update will also at the same time, including a new culture interface and more.

Moving on to Empire of Sin, it’s also getting its first major expansion later this year, titled Make it Count. Below you can check out a trailer, images, and an official description and feature list.

It’ll be accompanied by a free update titled Precincts including supply lines and synergies, and more. Mod support is also coming.

“The expansion will introduce a new boss, Meyer “the Accountant” Lansky, new gangsters, “the Fixers,” and their Loan Sharking Racket. This is the first major content expansion for Empire of Sin since its launch last year, and builds upon the base game to offer additional content and gameplay options for players.”

Make It Count Key Features

  • Meyer Lansky – Play as the “Mob’s Accountant,” a boss that excels at economics and creates synergy in combat. He uses his smooth talking to “make peace” with money and connections.
  • “The Fixers” – Five gangsters are up for hire, bringing their loan sharking Racket and combat abilities. This Racket unlocks Blackmail over other characters and factions.
  • A string of missions that tell the story of Lansky and the Fixers, unlocking game features like Loan Sharking, and introduce Lansky’s mentor, Arnold Rothstein.
  • New rackets, new abilities, new gangsters and new missions- more details to come!

Next is Prison Architect, also getting a major expansion titled Second Chances. It’ll come on June 16th for PC, PS4, and Xbox One and June 29th for Nintendo Switch.

“Each program in Prison Architect: Second Chances offers a different means of rehabilitating a prisoner and changing their behavior. This includes opportunities for inmates to socialize with civilians, take classes on peaceful conflict resolution, and more. Positive behavioral changes can lead to sentence reductions, giving inmates a chance to return to their lives beyond the prison. Reoffending inmates will cost Wardens, encouraging players to implement and oversee these programs with care.”

Prison Architect: Second Chances Key Features:

  • Return to Reform: Non-work programs, such as Animal Therapy, Meet & Greet, and Former Prisoner Classes can remove an inmate’s negative traits and see improved behaviors.
  • Good Behavior: Inmates can have their sentences reduced or increased based on their actions and reoffenders can now be sent back to prison. Players will be fined for each reoffender.
  • Room for Improvement: Inmates with existing or earned work credentials can become vendors to both prisoners and visitors in inmate-run rooms, including a Bakery, Restaurant and Therapy Room.
  • Back to Society: Inmates can earn work credentials through experience partaking in different work and training programs.

Talking about Stellaris, the new expansion pass and the console edition is starting on June 17. It will include Federations.

We also learn that the game sold 4 million copies on PC alone, and that it’s going to be playable for free this weekend on Steam.

For Hearts of Iron IV, we take a look at a teaser trailer of the No Step Back DLC, You can check it out below. The game is also celebrating its fifth year anniversary with a few statistics in another celebratory trailer.

The DLC obviously features the Soviet Union and the Eastern Front. It’ll include the ability of designing your own tanks and a new supply system based on railroads.

If you love Cities Skylines, it’s getting two new Content Creator DLC packs, Train Stations from Bad Peanut and Bridges & Piers from Armesto. Both are available today. The game is also getting a free weekend on PC starting tomorrow.
