After years of anticipation and delays, Dying Light 2 has finally received a release date it will be out this year on December 7. The footage is quite impressive. In it, you get a bit more information about the game’s various factions and how they will impact your experience in Dying Light 2. A developer points out that the game will be filled with choices, and how you choose to interact with these various factions, and what choices you make during the game’s most important mission, will change the way your story plays and how the game might end.

Nighttime gameplay was also shown and features Dying Light’s intense brand of parkour “zombie” gameplay. Infected humans come out from their hiding at night and flood the streets creating an extremely dangerous environment. However this does prevent an opportunity; with them not as concentrated into buildings, you have a chance to explore otherwise inaccessible areas to find key loot for your survival. Exploring this world, now known to be much larger than in Dying Light 1, will be a core hook of Dying Light 2’s staying power.

In addition to revealing the release date and showing off some extended gameplay, the stream also revealed a collector’s edition that you can get a peek at below complete with a figurine, concept art book, steel bookcase, and a UV flashlight, and other digital in-game perks.

If you want to pre-order Dying Light 2, pre-orders are now open for all platforms. Dying Light 2 will release on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and PC.
