Biomutant’s open-world is vast, which means you’re not going to want to traverse its entirety on foot if you can avoid it. Thankfully, you don’t have to, and once you’ve unlocked them, mounts can be summoned at the press of a button, allowing you to navigate tricky terrain and generally move around faster. Here’s how to get a mount in Biomutant if you’re unsure.
How to Get a Mount in Biomutant
There are several mounts in Biomutant, from horse-like mutant creatures to mech robots and speed boats. The very first mount you’ll likely unlock is the Puki Azure Gnoat, which is basically a horse. These creatures are actually spread plentifully around the map, and it’s when you first encounter one that the game will have you capture and tame it to score your first mount. All you need to do is grab a Koko Pip from underneath a nearby bush and you’ll then tame.
From then on, simply press down on the d-pad to bring up your selection of mounts and summon one.
Later, you’ll also gain access to the aforementioned vehicles, such as the Mekton robot and Googlider speed boat. Again, these are part of unmissable story missions. As we’ve covered in detailed guides on specific vehicles, mounts such as the Mekton can be customized throughout the game if you’re willing to beat the associated side quest.
However, there are other mounts that you purchase from vendors and are not part of the main story quest. These simply require you to purchase a “certificate” from the vendor in order to use, which costs Green Leaf to purchase.
