Invincible’s first season just ended, and what a roller coast ride it was. While it may have only been eight episodes, every single one of them was filled to the brim with shocking moments. As such, we thought it only fitting to sort through all the episodes and go through the craziest ones. These are five Invincible season 1 moments that’ll make your jaw drop.

The First Episode’s Post-Credits Scene
Invincible Season 1 Moments
One of the most interesting things about Invincible is that it is presented as a very different show in its first episode.
Throughout the majority of the series’ pilot, the show maintains this Saturday-morning cartoon innocence, lulling the viewers in with a false sense of security. There is no blood, death, or vulgarity, and the art style is even reminiscent of classic shows like the Justice League.
As soon as the credits roll, though, Invincible shows its true, violent colors.
The final 10 minutes of the first episode sees series’ heroic, Superman-like character Omni-Man murder his fellow heroes after falsely summoning them. They don’t sugarcoat any of the deaths either – blood and guts spill all over the place, as characters get their skulls crushed and their bodies ripped apart.
This twist is such a jarring change of pace from the formulaic superhero show that one can’t help but be completely shocked when it happens.
Battle Beast Dominates the New Guardians
Invincible Season 1 Moments
For a superhero that calls himself Invincible, Mark sure tends to get beat-up quite a bit in season 1. Even with all of the beatings he takes throughout the first four episodes though, nothing compares to his shocking fight with Battle Beast.
Taking place in episode 5, aptly titled “That Actually Hurt,” Mark and the new Guardians of the Globe go up against a villain named Battle Beast. This humanoid lion man’s sole goal in life is to find worthy opponents that will make combat seem fun.
Unfortunately for our heroes, Battle Beast is way too strong for them, and they get absolutely pummeled. In no time flat, he manages to nearly kill Monster Girl, Black Samson, and Mark without breaking a sweat. The villain is so disappointed by the lack of challenge that he ends up teleporting away out of annoyance without finishing the fight.
The icing on the cake to this messed-up moment is that Omni-Man could have stopped the whole thing, as he is shown watching from the sky. Instead, he doesn’t intervene in order to teach Mark a lesson.
Despite the fact that we’ve seen some bad things from Nolan at this point, this was the biggest indication that he wasn’t going to be in the running for any Father of the Year trophies any time soon.
Meeting the Real Robot
Invincible Season 1 Moments
When we first meet Robot in Invincible, he seems like the pillar of the Teen Team, leading them in battle with his knowledge and amazing abilities. Shortly after he becomes the new leader of the Guardians of the Globe, though, it is revealed he has some machinations up his sleeve.
Not only do we find out that Robot freed the Mauler brother’s from prison, but we also witness him take blood from Rex Sloan without his permission, using it to create a new body for himself. As it turns out, his real body has been confined to a vat due to genetic deformities ever since he was born.
With the help of the Mauler brothers, he is eventually able to create a clone of himself using this DNA from Rex, transplanting his memories and personality into the clone’s body.
This clone looks exactly like a younger version of Rex, and after meeting up with the New Guardians, he introduces himself under Robot’s true identity: Rudolph Conners. When confronted about doing this, he simply tells The Guardians that he did it all so that he could finally have a functional body, choosing this shape because he knew Monster Girl – who he’s interested in – had a thing for Rex.
It is a crazy reveal, as Robot tells the truth about the situation and manages to become human – while also maintaining his powers – in one of the strangest ways possible.
Omni-Man vs. the GDC
Invincible Season 1 Moments
Ever since the end of episode 1, viewers could feel the tension in the air between Omni-Man and the GDC. It was apparent to both sides that Cecil and company knew what Nolan really did to the Guardians of the Globe, but neither side took action in order to keep their plans intact.
This tense understanding holds up until episode 6, as Deborah Grayson confronts her husband about the lies, including that she knows he killed all of the Guardians. The cards are all on the table for both sides following this confrontation, resulting in an insanely bloody fight between the GDC and Omni-Man.
The fight starts with Omni-Man ripping the GDC agents in his home apart, breaking their backs and cutting them in half with simple actions like shoving them across a kitchen counter. He then finds the surveillance team across the street, crushing Donald Ferguson’s spine.
Before he is killed, the agent self-destructs the house, giving Cecil a little bit of time to come up with a plan to delay this indestructible threat. Throwing everything he can at Omni-Man only slows him down, though, as killer robots, a Kaiju, and even a resurrected Immortal couldn’t stop him.
This all ends with Omni-Man killing Immortal once again by cutting him in half. The difference is this time, it was recorded on television and witnessed by Mark, revealing Nolan’s true nature.
The show ends in the proverbial eye of the storm, as Nolan tells his son that they need to talk.
The Entire Final Episode
Invincible Season 1 Moments
Invincible’s season finale is a non-stop train ride of insanely shocking twists.
The episode starts with Omni-Man revealing that Viltrumites are actually a race that are out to conquer the universe. When Mark doesn’t agree with his plan to help his father take over Earth for this evil empire, the two fight…if you want to even call it that.
Nolan ends up brutalizing his son, killing thousands of innocent people in the process. He throws Mark through a skyscraper, killing everyone inside and thousands of people in the street below due to the combined impact of it and Mark crashing through the street.
Nolan then smashes Mark through the ground and into the Subway. Once there, he holds Mark in front of a train. The resulting impact of the train hitting these two immovable objects is a gore-filled disaster, killing everyone aboard.
Mark is eventually tossed into a mountain and pummeled by his father, causing an avalanche that kills hundreds more people below as a result.
The most shocking moment of the episode, though, comes after Nolan asks his son who he would have left in a world full of worthless people he’d outlive by thousands of years.
Mark simply reply, “I’d have you, Dad.” This causes Nolan to fly off instead of killing his son, seemingly marking the first time a Villtrumite has abandoned his post.
Honestly, any one of these moments from the finale is shocking enough to warrant its own section, so it is even crazier that they all occur back to back in the same episode.
