First of all, we get an update on the performance of the More Personal Computing business, which includes Microsoft’s gaming division and the Xbox brand.

You can find all the relevant figures for the bussiness in the slides below.

We learn that gaming revenue was $3.533 billion and grew 50% (by $1.2 billion according to the form 10Q) year-on-year, while Xbox Content and Services revenue grew 34% ($739 million) year-on-year due to the performance of first-party and third-party games, and Xbox Game Pass subscriptions.

Xbox hardware revenue grew 232% year-on-year driven by continued demand for Xbox Series X and S. Gaming is identified as the driving factor for revenue growth of the whole business segment

In terms of Microsoft as a whole corporation, the key results are very positive and can be found below.

If you want to compare with past figures, you can check out the results from the previous quarter (from Oct. to Dec. 2020) published by Microsoft back in January.

It’s worth mentioning that Microsoft doesn’t use the traditional fiscal year from April to March, but instead uses its own calendar from July to June, which is why the results described here are for the third quarter and not the fourth.
