Today Aquaplus released the first trailer of the upcoming action-JRPG Utawarerumono ZAN 2.
The trailer focuses on showcasing the features of the game including the new battle system and the new story content that expands on the story of Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth.
We also see the character board that servers as a progression tool and several of the characters in battle, alongside the new mechanics that set this game aside from its predecessor.
The video also shows an introduction of some of the the playable characters and their special moves. Some of the enemies are also showcased.
Then we take a look at the hub area where you can deepen the relationships with other characters, progress the story, and strengthen your heroes. It can be expanded and customized with points you can earn while playing.
The online co-op mode is also showcased. It prompts players to complete missions with friends, but you can enjoy the same map offline on your own.
Last, but not least, the trailer showcases the new in-engine cinematics that have been greatly improved.
You can watch it below.
Utawarerumono Zan 2 will be released, at least in Japan, on July 22, 2021, for PS5 and PS4. You can check out the previous trailer and screenshots.
At the moment, no western release has been announced. That’s not surprising considering that the game has just been revealed. The original Utawarerumono ZAN was published in the west by NIS America.
