Like other looter shooters on the market, Outriders is flush with weapons and gear to track down. Every piece varies in rarity, and the rarer the gear, the better it’ll serve you. However, you may have heard that there is a way to manually raise an item’s rarity level, leaving you wondering how to increase gear rarity in Outriders.
Fortunately, we have the answers you’re looking for. Below you’ll find plenty of info on where you can change a piece of gear’s rarity, what happens when you do so, and some of the additional advantages that come with carrying out this action.
How to Increase Gear Rarity in Outriders
To increase your gear rarity in Outriders, you’ll need to speak to an NPC at your main camp; specifically, Dr. Zahedi. He’ll become available after you complete the main story mission wherein Shira asks you to track him down. If you haven’t reached this point in the game yet, then focus on progressing the main story until you do.
Once Dr. Zahedi is in your camp, speak to him to open up his crafting menu. Then, select the Improve Rarity option from his list of menu options.
From there, you’ll be able to increase a piece of gear’s rarity with a specific resource. For example, an item with a Common ranking can be bumped up to Unusual with some Iron or Leather. Bumping up an Unusual rarity item to Rare, meanwhile, will require Titanium, and so on and so forth.
Regardless, once you’ve increased an item’s rarity, it will see a boost in the bonus attributes it grants you. You’ll also be presented with three potential mods to add to the gear, and whichever one you choose will be permanently applied to the weapon or armor.
