That’s where we come in. Below you’ll find a detailed explanation on how to skip these cinematics, and whether there are any you can’t skip.

How to Skip Cutscenes in Nier Automata

You can skip cutscenes whenever they start playing in Nier Automata by pressing the Option button twice on PlayStation 4 or the Menu button twice on Xbox One.

After the first press, you’ll know the option is available by a verification notice at the top right corner of the screen. From there, just press the button again and you’ll be taken straight into the gameplay segment that would have followed the scene.

This can be very useful for getting through cutscenes you’ve already seen during previous scenario playthroughs. Likewise, it can be a godsend if you’re struggling with a particular boss and keep getting sent to the point right before their introduction cutscene.

Can You Skip Every Cutscene in the Game?

As for whether or not their are limits to skipping cutscenes in Nier Replicant, the answer is tricky.

You’ll be able to skip most every cinematic cutscene in the game with the instructions laid out above. For scenes which may require dialogue input from you though, you’ll need to sit through it and skip the dialogue boxes individually by pressing the X Button or A Button – for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Respectively – repeatedly.

It can be a bit of a pain, but this is the only way to get through them quickly sans a proper full-skipping method.
