Nier Replicant: Should You Sell or Keep the Jade Hair Ornament? (Damaged Map Quest)

Nier replicant jade hair ornament

During Nier Replicant’s second half, you’ll come across ‘The Damaged Map’ quest. During this, you’ll need to make a tough decision. The Jade Hair Ornament you’ve collected can either be sold yourself for a small amount of money, or exchanged as the Blacksmith’s Wife instructs you to for a real treasure map. But which option should you pick? Here’s whether to sell the Jade Hair Ornament, or exchange it for the treasure map in Nier Replicant.

Should You Sell or Keep the Jade Hair Ornament?

If you sell the Jade Hair Ornament yourself, you’ll get a small amount of gold for doing so. This isn’t really worth it in our opinion, as exchanging it for the treasure map is far more lucrative and the amount of gold just isn’t amazing.

Instead, do as the Blacksmith’s Wife instructs you to and exchange it for the real treasure map. This will then lead you to “the start of a steel bridge.” Follow the instructions and take this clue to make your way to the location.

This treasure map will actually net you a very valuable reward. You’ll get the Gold Coin, which you can then bring back to the Blacksmith himself. He’ll then give you a marked treasure map that leads you to the Labyrinth’s Shout spear, which is not only a cool-looking weapon, but one you’ll need to obtain every weapon in the game.

If you’re looking to see all of Nier Replicant’s endings, you’ll need to get all 33 weapons in the game. As such, we’d highly recommend keeping the Jade Hair Ornament and exchanging it for the treasure map, rather than just selling it for a bit of gold.

That’s everything you need to know about the Nier Replicant Jade Hair Ornament and what you should do with it. For more on the game, head over to our wiki, or see more of our coverage below.
