Nier Replicant: How to Get Rusted Clump

How to Get Rusted Clump

Just as in any good action-RPG, all the weapons in Nier Replicant are upgradeable, and you’ll need to do so throughout the game in order to keep pace with the enemies you’ll encounter. Each weapon upgrade requires different materials in addition to gold, and some of the stronger arms require one material in particular. Here’s how to get Rusted Clump in Nier Replicant.

How to Get Rusted Clump in Nier Replicant

Rusted Clump is required to upgrade several of Nier Replicant’s weapons to their highest tiers, such as the Blade of Treachery, Iron Pipe, and Iron Will.

Although you will stumble across Rusted Clump throughout the game in random locations, it is farmed exclusively by fishing. You should be able to find it in any body of water by using bait that doesn’t apply to that water source. For example: If you use Carp, a freshwater bait, as bait to fish in a saltwater source like the Seafront ocean, it’ll bring up a Rusted Clump because no fish will go for the bait.

We have had the best luck farming Rusted Clump in locations such as the Desert and Northern Plains. You can fish at the pier next to the fast travel boat in the Desert, and at the lake to the south of the Junk Heap entrance in the Northern Plains.

In addition to its use as an upgrade material, it’s worth noting that said Clumps are worth 1,100 Gold apiece when sold, so they’re good for grinding up money fast.
