How to Get a Mysterious Switch in Nier Replicant

You can get Mysterious Switches in Nier Replicant by defeating the yellow robotic enemies found in the Junk Heap’s B2 area.

These are the square robots that roll along the ground on treads, and which fire off streams of projectile attacks at you. The best room to farm these enemies is in the snaking corridor with holes in the floor leading to a vast pit of magma.

They shouldn’t give you too much trouble, especially if you’re at a high level. However, it’s worth noting that Mysterious Switches are a rare drop from these enemies. As such, you’ll want to have Words like Mah, Mahira, or Mahzarr applied to your weapons to increase their rare drop rate percentage.

What Mysterious Switches Are Used for

Once you have a Mysterious Switch or two in Nier Replicant, you’ll probably be faced with a question: What do I do with this?

The answer, fortunately, is simple. You can use Mysterious Switches to complete side quest requirements – like those posed by the Masterless Lighthouse – and use them to upgrade certain weapons to a higher level at the Junk Heap’s Weapon Upgrade shop.

Otherwise, you can sell them to any vendor for a tidy sum of gold, but make sure you don’t have any other uses for them before doing this.
