How to Get Voluca Island Illumina Pokemon in New Pokemon Snap

When you enter the Illumina Spot on Voluca Island, you’ll discover that the Illumina Pokemon here is Volcarona. In fact, there are two of them here for you to photograph.

Volcarona isn’t too difficult to capture a photo of, but you can’t just snap a picture and be done with it. You’ll notice that they are covered in flames as they fly around the cavern. You need to put out the flames by throwing Fluffruit at them. The Fluffruit needs to hit the Volcarona for the flames to go out.

Next, you have to hit them with Illumina Orbs. This will make the Volcarona glow brightly. When it is at its brightest, snap a few photos of it while it is hovering and not flying around the room. Only photos of Volcarona glowing count for the professor’s research, but luckily only one of the two needs to be in the picture, so you have plenty of opportunities to get a good one.

If you get back to Professor Mirror and find that your photos don’t count, make sure you are hitting the Volcarona with a few Illumina Orbs to make it glow brightly. Any photos of the glowing effect will count.

That’s everything you need to know about how to get the Voluca Island Illumina Pokemon. Be sure to check out Twinfinite’s guide wiki for more coverage on New Pokemon Snap.
