First off, the event will run till April 12, 3:59 a.m. server time, so you’ve got a few more days to snag all the rewards before it comes to a close. In addition to that, you need to have hit Adventure Rank 20 and completed the world quest titled Break the Sword Cemetery Seal.

If you haven’t done so already, simply bring up the events panel and click on Contending Tides to navigate to Dr. Livingstone. She’ll automatically give you the world quest, and you can complete it on the spot before moving on to the next quest titled Mountainous Summons, which is how you unlock Contending Tides.

After doing so, simply head to the new marker on your map where you can start the combat trials. We’ve indicated its location in the screenshot down below.

Rewards

Each day, a new trial will be available for you to tackle at the Contending Tides area. They all come in three difficulties: Normal, Hard, and Extreme, and will have separate rewards for you to collect. The difficulty increases by limiting the amount of time you have to clear the trial, increasing the number of enemies you have to beat, and decreasing the number of allowed character deaths.

The rewards are well worth it, though, and we’ve listed them below:

There are level recommendations for each difficulty mode, with Extreme having a party level recommendation of 85. You can tackle all of them at any level, but do be warned that if there’s too large of a gap in levels between your characters and the enemies, the enemies will deal more damage to you.

That’s all you need to know about the Contending Tides event in Genshin Impact. Be sure to check our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
