Today, Media Molecule announced that Dreams’ latest update 2.22 is available to download for PS4, and PS5 (via backwards compatibility).
Overall, update 2.22 introduces quite a few new additions, but the most notable inclusion is a brand-new Audio Importer to help enrich the game’s media tools. Specifically, the new indreams.me Audio Importer allows users more freedom to record their own original content and then upload their new tunes directly into their creations within Dreams.
It’s worth noting that you’ll have to sign into indreams.me – the game’s companion app – to use this new functionality and you’ll have to be level 30 or higher to unlock it. Also, the amount of audio content that you can upload each day is dependant on your level.
Thankfully, for those of you who’re after some further tips or guidance on how to use the new Audio Importer, the developer has published its very own page in the Dreams Workshop so you’ll find an in-depth user guide and a full breakdown of the features available and how to use them in-game.
Next up, the update also introduces QR code support to the Message of the Day system, and there’s also a new autumnal boot-up image for when you start the game. And finally, rounding out update 2.22 are some general bug fixes to help improve the title’s general user experience. You can check out the full Dreams 2.22 patch notes here.
Our very own Khayl Adam reviewed Dreams when it launched last year and awarded the title three-and-a-half out of five, saying: “Dreams is an almost bottomless well of user-created content, and already there are some gems amongst the myriad of creations available. It isn’t for everyone, but for the right kind of person, it will be everything.” You can read his full in-depth review here.
