How to Get Iron Sledgehammer in Valheim

The Iron Sledgehammer hits for 50 damage and causes AoE that is particularly effective for taking out groups of enemies. It’s suitable for taking on many different sorts of enemies, but it’s particularly well-suited to crushing hordes of Skeleton Warriors. Think of it as a better version of the Stagbreaker.

Like almost every weapon and item in the game, you’ll need to craft an Iron Sledgehammer if you want one. Don’t expect to stumble across one in a chest or out in the wild.

To craft the Iron Sledgehammer you’ll need to have a Smelter and Forge, and you’ll also need to travel to the Swamp biome to slay some Draugr Elites and fell some Ancient Trees.

The recipe is as follows:

  • x4 Ymir Flesh
  • x30 Iron
  • x10 Ancient Bark
  • x1 Draugr Elite Trophy

You should be used to smelting Scrap Iron to Iron using the Smelter by now.

As for Ymir Flesh, you can purchase it from Haldor the merchant. It costs 120 coins for a single unit, so you’ll need 480 for the four required.

With your ingredients all ready, you can now head over to the Forge and craft your new weapon.
