Monster Hunter Rise is the latest entry in Capcom’s popular action game series, and while it does introduces a few new mechanics like the wirebug and Palamutes, a lot of other elements have remained intact. In this entry, you’ll still be able to unlock Sub-Camps in a level to make your quests a little easier. Here’s how to unlock Sub-Camps in Monster Hunter Rise.
Every level in Monster Hunter Rise has a main camp that you’ll start out at. However, because the levels are pretty big, it can be useful to have a small handful of locations to fast travel to when tracking down your prey, and this is where Sub-Camps come in.
Unlike main campsites, you can’t deliver supply items to a Sub-Camp or eat there, but you can use them as fast travel points to quickly get from one location to another.
This is especially useful if you don’t want to use your Palamute to ride everywhere, or if you want to get closer to a location where you know your prey is usually lurking.
Unlocking Sub-Camps in Monster Hunter Rise
First, you need to actually find the Sub-Camp itself. They’re usually hidden away in high places, or in little nooks and crannies in the level. You’ll know you’ve found one when you see a little tent or campfire, and a quest prompt will show up.
You’ll then need to head back to Kamura Village to talk with the merchant about setting up a camp there, and you’ll receive a request to make that area safe. This can be done by simply killing small monsters near the Sub-Camp location.
Once you’ve done so, report back at Kamura Village and that location will be unlocked for you. The next time you go back to that level, you’ll be able to fast travel between campsites, which should make things a lot more convenient for you.
