How to Get Sanrio Items & Furniture In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

The Sanrio items are a little bit different than regular items in Animal Crossing. They can’t be obtained normally in the game.

In fact, they are exclusive to the Sanrio amiibo cards. This means you must either purchase these cards yourself or know someone else who has them.

The cards were originally released in Japan for Animal Crossing: New Leaf, but they are being released in other parts of the world on March 26. You’ll be able to find the pack of cards in Target stores for $5.99.

After you’ve acquired the Sanrio amiibo cards, you’ll need to make sure your game is updated to version 1.9, which was released on March 18. This is the update that adds the Sanrio items to the game.

Once you’ve updated your game, you can scan the Sanrio amiibo cards at Photopia (Harvey’s Island). Scanning each of the six cards unlocks a handful of exclusive items related to that character.

After scanning the cards to unlock the items, the items from each set can be purchased with Bells from the Nook Stop in resident services under the Promotions tab.

The only unfortunate part is that these items are included in the limit of five items that can be purchased each day. That means only a maximum of five can be ordered to be delivered to your mailbox the next day; you must wait until the next day to order up to five more.

Otherwise, there’s no limit to how many of each item you can get, and they won’t ever expire. You’re free to send any of the items to your friends, but they won’t be able to catalogue them to order more.

That means if you don’t have the amiibo cards yourself, you can still be sent individual items from your friends in the mail.
