Being the ninth game in the Ys series and the third game on PS4, you might expect Ys IX Monstrum Nox to have some sort of reward for playing previous titles, and you would be right. Here’s how to get all save data bonuses in Ys IX Monstrum Nox.
How to Get All Save Data Bonuses in Ys IX Monstrum Nox
Despite there being a nine (not including spin-offs) Ys games total, there are only two you need save data from to qualify for the save data bonuses. You don’t have to have beaten the game, it seems that, simply, a save just at some point in the game(s) will be sufficient.
PS Vita spin-off Ys: Memories of Celceta received a PS4 port in June of 2020 and is one of the games you will need to have played it to receive the bonus.
Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is the other game you will need to have played, it was released in 2016 and was the first PS4 Ys game.
The save data bonuses you get from both of these games will earn you two unique accessories themed after the two games that are a major boon, especially in the beginning of Monstrum Nox.
Memories of Celceta save data gives:
Celcetan Wreath
DEF +10, HP +200, Resist Curse
Ys VII: Lacrimosa of Dana save data awards:
Old Seal Ring
STR/DEF +15, Critical Rate +30%
When starting a new game, after selecting difficulty you will be informed of the saved data bonuses and asked if you want to import save data from the two games. If you have the requested save data, simply hit yes and the game will do all the work for you.
The accessories will be automatically in your inventory at the start of the game and can be equipped to Adol as soon as you are able to access the Equip menu.
