Destiny 2’s Season of the Chosen is up and running and the new seasonal gameplay loop has taken shape. Guardians will need to shift back and forth between playlist activities and the new Battlegrounds seasonal activity to get the latest and (hopefully) greatest loot. If you’re here, you’re probably wondering how to Charge the Hammer of proving in Destiny 2’s Season of the Chosen. Here’s what you need to know.
How to Charge Hammer of Proving in Destiny 2’s Season of the Chosen
The Hammer of Proving is a key new quest item that will be used heavily by most guardians during Destiny 2’s Season of the Chosen. Along with Cabal Gold, it’s one of two items that you’ll need to complete the seasonal activity gameplay loop. You’ll get it as you progress through the Season of the Chosen introductory questline.
The Hammer of Proving serves two purposes. First, it allows you to forge medallions by using Cabal Gold. If you’re unsure how to get Cabal Gold, check out our guide here. It’s important as you will need lots of it and will be needed to ultimately charge your Hammer of Proving.
To forge and socket the medallions, interact with the Hammer of Proving and select the medallion that you wish to forge.
The medallions, once forged, will allow you to smash the Tribute Chest at the end of the harder version (1,200 power) of the Battlefields in the Vanguard playlist.
To charge your Hammer of Proving, you’ll need to complete the activity, kill the boss, and with a socketed medallion, smash the Tribute Chest the appears at the end of the activity.
You’ll get a reward and your Hammer of Proving will gain a charge. You can hold a maximum of three and they can be used in the HELM at the Prismatic Recaster and Decoder for various perks.
