bowser's fury 3ds

Bowser’s Fury is an all-new Mario adventure that sees the titular plumber heading to Lake Lapcat, a world where everything has a feline feel to it. Even the enemies have little cat ears! As it’s a little bit shorter than your typical Mario adventure, some players may be wondering if Bowser’s Fury is coming to Nintendo 3DS. Here’s everything you need to know about a possible 3DS port.

Unfortunately, Bowser’s Fury will not be coming to the Nintendo 3DS.

In September 2019, Nintendo announced that the 3DS hardware family was officially ‘out of production’ and the year before it had announced that it would no longer release any first-party games for the handheld system.

Even if Nintendo was still releasing first-party titles, it’s highly unlikely that Bowser’s Fury would run as intended on the handheld. In handheld mode, the Nintendo Switch has to drop the framerate down to 30fps, and that’s got significantly more horsepower than the 3DS.

As such, it’s highly unlikely the old handheld could run the new Mario title.

The only way to get Bowser’s Fury, currently, is to buy Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury on the Nintendo Switch. It doesn’t look like Nintendo has any plans to release Bowser’s Fury as a standalone title, but Super Mario 3D World is a great title from the Wii U era that’s well worth playing if you haven’t experienced it already.

That’s everything you need to know regarding whether or not Bowser’s Fury is coming to 3DS. For more on the game, search for Twinfinite or check out our guide wiki.
