The year has only just started, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t already some top-tier anime lined up for release. This includes shows that will be available through Funimation, complete with the bonus of having a stellar English dub somewhere down the line. Fruits Basket Final Season

It’s been a long, hard road for Fruits Basket fans, but the climactic end to the series is finally here.
Tohru has helped the members of the Soma clan through a number of past traumas, lingering pains, and problems during her time with them. In turn, they’ve helped her face some of her own issues and given her a group of family and friends she feels accepted by.
However, their curse still remains to be broken, and not every member of the clan fully accepts her yet. To that end, she’ll need to help prove she’s legitimate in her love and caring for the family, both to save all of them and to hold onto the new happiness she’s found.
It’ll be an emotional ride for sure – especially for those who have been around since the first anime adaptation, and have been waiting for a full adaptation ever since – but one well worth the wait. This is especially true for fans of Funimation’s dub of the series, which has been top-notch from the get-go thanks to exceptional performances all throughout the English cast.
It’s for these reasons that its tentative April release window can’t come soon enough.
My Hero Academia Season 5

The My Hero Academia anime is set to continue with its fifth season this April, and it looks to be just as exciting as ever in its latest trailer.
Following the events of the last season, Midoriya and his classmates have been given a new assignment: Face their fellow students from Class 1-B in a Joint Training session.
Each class must use their powers in tandem with one another in teams of five, and prove that they’ve grown since the start of their schooling.
This serves as a perfect opportunity for Midoriya, who has been diligently working to prove himself a worthy successor of One for All. Whether or not he’ll be able to show this off properly, though, remains to be seen.
It’s more of the same from the series, but given that the show has remained one of the most acclaimed in anime among western fans, that’s far from a bad thing.
Likewise, Funimation’s dub cast has consistently shown themselves to be well-suited for their roles, making the next season’s dub something to look forward to.
Fans can look forward to seeing it for themselves when it kicks off near the end of April.
Zombieland Saga: Revenge

Zombie Land Saga remains one of the wilder anime shows out there, and its second season doesn’t appear to be changing course.
After finally coming together as a group of zombie idols, the show’s cast is struck with devastating news: Saga is apparently set to be shut down, and there’s nothing they can do about it.
After finding a group to call their own though, and finding a way to get back at the destiny that so cruelly killed all of them in their prime, they aren’t going to give up without a fight.
Together, they’ll find a way to save Saga, avenge themselves and stick it to the “destiny” that seeks to bring them down at every turn.
Admittedly, things will be far more light-hearted than the initial premise makes it sound. Likewise, Funimation had plenty of fun with the characters while dubbing the first season, and there’s little doubt they won’t do the same with this next entry in the franchise.
It all kicks off in sometime in April, and fans are sure to get a firm release date sooner rather than later.
Nomad: Megalo Box 2

As soon as things kick off in the teaser trailer for Nomad: Megalo Box 2, it’s clear that something has happened in-between the first and second seasons.
The once fiery and fierce Joe is now haggard and worn, a bottle of pills always in hand. The voice of his trainer is always paired with a look of despair crossing Joe’s face, and characters speak of how things usually don’t go according to plan.
And yet, ever the fighter, Joe is seen diving into combat anyway, the series’ trademark robotic boxing gear strapped to his body. Who he’s fighting though, and for what reason he’s engaged in combat, remains to be seen.
Needless to say, there’s a lot to look forward to seeing in the next cour of Megalo Box’s story, and Funimation will be the place to see it. They whole-heartedly embraced the first season’s older aesthetic with a dub that brought the characters to life and lent the series’ story a depth that fans of all stripes could appreciate.
Nomad currently has a release window of April 2021 in Japan too, so it shouldn’t be long before the word comes out as to when fans can dig into the next cour of the series via a dub.
Demon Slayer Season 2

To say Demon Slayer Season 2 is one of the most highly anticipated series coming out this year would be an understatement.
Following the breakout success of its first season back in 2019 and its first film’s juggernaut run at the box office in 2020, people were rabid for the release of news regarding the second season. Fortunately, news finally came earlier this month in the form of a teaser trailer.
It confirmed not only that Ufotable would return to handle the season’s animation, but that it would adapt the Red-Light District arc. In it, Tanjiro and his friends must join forces with yet another Hashira to take down a powerful demon lurking in plain sight.
Following the events of the Mugen Train incident though, it’s anyone’s guess whether they’ll be able to succeed against the growing threat of Muzan’s forces.
The animation still looks stellar, and knowing Funimation, they’ll be putting their all into the season’s dub. The cour still only has a tentative release date of 2021 though, so our fingers are crossed for a firm release date to arrive sooner rather than later.
