Genshin Impact: How to Get 5 Star Artifacts

5 Star Artifact

Especially as you progress past Adventure Rank Level 20, increasing the strength of your party in Genshin Impact becomes almost entirely centered around Artifacts. These gear pieces offer unique buffs in combat, and they’re essentially how you fine-tune your party composition to take on the game’s hardest domains and bosses. Here’s how to get 5 Star Artifacts in Genshin Impact if you’re looking to build the most powerful characters possible.

How to Get 5 Star Artifacts in Genshin Impact

Like many other useful items in the game, Artifacts can be earned as rewards for opening chests and beating quests. They can also be earned as rewards for beating weekly bosses, but you won’t have the opportunity to earn 5 Star Artifacts until you have reached Adventure Rank Level 40.

Although, that being said, there is a slim chance they’ll drop after beating some weekly bosses from level 30. We don’t have information on the drop rates to share for you, but it’s safe to say it’s a pretty low number.

Farming Artifacts

In any case, the best way to farm Artifacts is to grind domains and world event boss fights (Stormterror, Boreas, etc). These offer much better and more consistent drop rates, and, in the case of domains, you can actually see the items that will drop so you know what you’re grinding for.

Here’s a useful guide on how to beat the Clear Pool & Mountain Cavern (Stone Chamber I ~ III), which drops the Noblesse Oblige 5 Star Artifact.

Of course, to take part you’ll need to make sure you have plenty of Original Resin. Remember, this regenerates at about 1 unit per 10 minutes, which is a fairly slow rate.

Weekly bosses typically require 60, while domains require 20. Make sure you’re choosing which boss/domain to run wisely. Also, do note that Original Resin caps at 160 units, so there’s no point holding onto it beyond that point.
