The project is apparently to be directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Kong: Skull Island), with Derek Connolly (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker) having penned the script, Avi Arad producing, and Peter Kang acting as the executive overseeing for the studio.

There’s currently no start-date locked in for filming, and Deadline notes that Isaac’s busy schedule will make things difficult. The actor is currently working on Dune, The Card Counter, and Big Gold Brick, which are all slated to launch in 2021.

Further, he’s also starring in both HBO’s Scenes From A Marriage and the titular main protagonist in Marvel’s Moon Knight over on Disney+. Isaac is, of course, best known recently for having played Poe Dameron.

From what little we know about the Metal Gear Solid film adaptation thus far, it’s expected to be based on the 1998 action game which first launched on the original PlayStation console. The story follows a veteran operative who is sent to a secret military base on the fictional Shadow Moses Island in Alaska following its takeover by a renegade genetically-enhanced special forces unit called FOXHOUND.

There’s no word yet on who will play other iconic characters like Liquid Snake and Revolver Ocelot.
