Genshin Impact’s level system segments character and weapon progression into tiers. That means once you get to a certain level, you’ll need to “Ascend” your weapon or character to the next tier before leveling can continue. This process requires certain resources, depending on who or what you’re ascending. In the case of Barabara, Klee, Qiqi, and a whole bunch of weapons, you’re going to need to track down a particularly pesky enemy type. Here’s how to get Divining Scrolls in Genshin Impact.
How to Get Divining Scrolls in Genshin Impact
Divining Scrolls are found by locating and defeating Samachurls, which are basically the Hilichurl equivalent of a wizard. They spawn in many different locations across Teyvat, but easily the best place to find them is in the Stormterror’s Lair, pictured above.
Of course, you’ll need to have progressed to the point in the story when that area is unlocked. If you haven’t done that, fear not: as we mentioned before, Samachurls spawn in plenty of other locations, both in the Mondstadt area and Liyue.
Try heading to Wolvendom just west of Mondstadt or the area around Mingyun Village in Liyue. They can also be found just south of the Wangshu Inn too.
Once you’ve located Samachurls, simply defeat one to loot a Divining Scroll. They can be a bit annoying to fight since they cast spells and have much more HP than Hilchurls. Still, you’ll be fine…
After you’ve farmed enough Divining Scrolls, then you’ll be able to put your resources toward ascending either a character or a weapon. Here’s an overview of every item that can be ascended via the Divining Scroll:
- Barbara Character
- Klee
- Qiqi
- Beginner’s Protector
- Dragon’s Bane
- Favonius Codex
- Iron Point
- Rainslasher
- Recurve Bow
- Sacrificial Sword
- Skyward Spine
- Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers
- Traveler’s Handy Sword
- Wine and Song
- Wolf’s Gravestone
