How to Pet a Dog in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Petting a dog in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is easy enough to do, so long as you’re in the right location; namely, any spot with some dogs to show some love to.

You can find dogs in most inhabited and friendly areas. Case in point: Your settlement will have several you can find and get close to, with the dogs usually responding to your proximity with a bark or even walking up close to you.

When this occurs, simply press the Triangle Button on PlayStation 4 or the Y button on the Xbox One. This will make your character give them a few pets. The dogs will show their gratitude with further barks and will follow you around the settlement for a bit.

That’s all there is to it really. It’s not exactly the most useful mechanic to take advantage of in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, but it is one that’s sure to warm your heart each time you do it. Even amid all of the blood and chaos of your character’s Viking adventure, they can still count on their canine companions to respond with love and affection with each noggin pat they receive.
