Modern Warfare and Warzone’s new Halloween event is finally here, bringing zombies to the game for the first time. In one mode, Zombie Royale, you come back as a zombie when you die, rather than going to the Gulag. So that you can hold your own as an undead, here’s everything you need to know about how to use the EMP as a zombie in Warzone Zombie Royale mode.
As a zombie in Zombie Royale, you’re not useless. While you’re not able to pick up weapons, you’re able to jump high, throw gas grenades, and send out an EMP blast with a single press of a button.
How to Use EMP as a Zombie in Warzone Zombie Royale
Once you’ve respawned as a zombie, you’ll see three icons at the bottom of the screen, indicating your three powers. The one on the right, shown by the lightning bolt, is your EMP blast.
To use it, you just need to press R1 on PS4 or RB on Xbox One when you’re in range of a human enemy. When you do, it’ll send a blue EMP wave out from your zombie body in a circle around you. When you hit someone successfully with it, an XP notification will pop up on screen, saying “enemy EMP’d.”
Then, to use it again, you’ll have to wait for it to recharge. As you can see in the screenshot above, you’re able to use it when the EMP icon is pink. After you’ve used it, it will turn orange, and you’ll have to wait for it to go pink again after ten seconds or so to use it again. Therefore, you can’t just run around the map spamming EMP to annoy all the still alive human enemies.
