How to Get One Giant Step for Alchemy Quest (Co-op Crucible)

First things first, if you’re struggling to trigger this quest, know that doing so requires you to have completed For a Tomorrow Without Tears, the 2nd Act in the Prologue chapter of the Archon Quests. Also, to be at least Adventure Rank Level 20 (which you really should be already if you’ve gotten that far.) This is perhaps where some are stumbling in trying to take part in the event.

Once you’re up to speed, getting the One Giant Step for Alchemy is as simple as visiting Timaeus in Mondstadt, who can be found at his crafting bench in the center of town. Interact with him and agree to help him with the new elemental crucible device that he tells you about.

From there it’s off to the Thousand Winds Temple, which is due east of Mondstadt (you should be familiar with it at this point). Just follow the marker anyway. Once there you’ll find Timaeus with his Crucible amid a ruined arena and he’ll explain how the system works.

Unfortunately, a Ruin Guard comes to spoil the party before you can have a go. You shouldn’t have too much trouble dodging with it; dodge its attacks and use a bow and arrow character to target its weak spots, or just pop off with Electro attacks.

Once the Ruin Guard is taken care of you begin the co-op event. Just interact with the Crucible to begin the co-op matchmaking.

And that’s everything you should need to know about how to get the One Giant Step for Alchemy Genshin Impact quest so you can take part in the co-op crucible event. For more useful tips and guides on the game, be sure to check out Twinfinite’s wiki.
