Today in the most recent TWAB, Bungie revealed when Destiny 2’s next raid will be released, along with more information about its world first race, and its rewards.
The next raid taking place in the Deep Stone Crypt on Europa, will release after Beyond Light comes out on all platforms on Nov. 10. It, instead, will release on Saturday, November 21 at 10 a.m. Pacific. Roughly a week and a half after the expansion’s release, but before all of the next-generation upgrades tick in for console users.
Deej, the author of this week’s TWAB, also provided the following details:
- Contest Mode will cap all players at 20 Power below each encounter for 24 hours.
- Artifact Power will be disabled during Contest Mode.
- 1230 Power is your team’s goal to be at the cap for all the encounters.
- Being above 1230 will not provide any additional advantage in the final fight.
Deej also noted that they are planning on taking a bit more time on declaring a winner to ensure they get it right. There will be an award ceremony and the winning fireteam will once again get world first title belts as is tradition in Destiny.
Those that complete the raid within the first 24 hours will get the following emblem:
If you finish the raid before December 1 at 9 a.m. Pacific, you’ll be eligible to purchase the exclusive raid jacket from the Bungie store. No word on what it looks like yet, though.
All players that complete the raid at any point will receive an emblem different from the 24 hour emblem as well, as is usual.
Although I’m never in serious contention to win, I very much enjoy participating and watching the world first race as it happens. Hopefully this year’s race goes smoothly once again.
