Today Naughty Dog announced that its popular The Last of Us celebration “Outbreak Day” will be renamed going forward.
Of course, the change was decided due to the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, and the new name is simply “The Last of Us Day.”
The developer admits that event’s name was rooted in the franchise’s lore, but it simply did not feel right to continue under the “outbreak” banner.
The Last of Us Day will be on September 26, and according to Naughty Dog there are “a lot of exciting things planned” and they will be shared in “just a few days.”
The Last of Us Part II is currently available exclusively for PlayStation 4.
