How to Use Ultimate Heroic Abilities in Avengers Game

Using Ultimate Heroic Abilities is fairly easy in Marvel’s Avengers so long as you’ve fulfilled a simple requirement.

Before trying to use them, check the upper corners of your screen for a flashing Ability icon. This will let you know that you have an Ultimate Heroic Ability charged up, and that you can let it loose on the enemies around you.

Once you see this icon, simply press the L1 and R1 Buttons on PlayStation 4, or the LT and RT Buttons on Xbox One, simultaneously. This will trigger your Hero’s ability, unleashing a powerful move that can range from an AOE attack damaging multiple foes to a buff that increases the damage output from all of their moves for a short time.

When You Should Use Your Ultimate Heroic Ability

With this in mind though, there are moments that are better than others to execute your Ultimate Heroic Ability in Marvel’s Avengers.

After the ability subsides, it’ll enter a cooldown period preventing you from using it again for a short while. This can leave you in dire straights if you find yourself up against a punishingly tough enemy right after using your Ultimate on a group of grunts.

As such, be cautious about spamming your Ultimates. You never know when you might need it, or if there might be a situation where you can maximize its effectiveness right around the corner.

Hopefully this cleared up how to use Ultimate Heroic Abilities in Marvel’s Avengers. For more on the game, check out our guide wiki. It has plenty of other guides on topics like how to compare gear and how to get Nanites.
