Hades is the brand new action roguelite from Supergiant Games, best known for releasing Bastion, Transistor, and Pyre. While this may be a roguelite game, it still retains a high focus on story elements and narrative, and you’ll need to beat the game quite a few times if you want to see everything the story has to offer. Here’s how to unlock the epilogue and true ending in Hades.
Unlocking the Epilogue and True Ending in Hades
After you complete your very first run in Hades, there’s still a lot more to do. For starters, completing your first run doesn’t even get you the true ending. To get it, you’ll need to complete a total of 10 runs.
This means that you need 10 successful runs and beat the final boss 10 times. This will reward you with the true ending itself, and the credits will roll, signaling that you’re now in the proper post-game section. You’ll know you’re in the post-game once Persephone shows up back at the House.
At this point, the exact requirements for unlocking the epilogue itself are still pretty unclear. However, the consensus seems to be that there’s some element of RNG to getting the epilogue quest to pop, and you simply need to keep playing through the game and reach the final boss until it pops for you.
There are a few things to keep in mind: it’s not necessary to have your relationships with all of the gods maxed out, and you don’t need to have unlocked all of the companions and secret artifacts either.
Unlocking the epilogue doesn’t have anything to do with getting 100% completion, and players have also reported that the trigger seems to be tied with beating Hades on a higher Heat level (as high as Heat level 8), so it’s a matter of replaying the game and slowly upping the difficulty as you go.
It’s also worth noting that the epilogue can be unlocked even with God Mode enabled, if you’re looking for an easier path while grinding out runs.
That’s all you need to know about how to unlock the true ending and epilogue in Hades. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
