It provides a deeper look at the characters that we’ll meet during the series ahead of its debut, which will be on September 17.

You can check out the trailer below. You can also check out a few earlier screenshots and another trailer from a few days ago.

I included the trailer with both English and Japanese voice-overs, so you can hear the difference.

The Dragon’s Dogma anime is produced by CG animation studio Sublimation which worked on Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199 and 2202, several Ghost in the Shell productions, the Evangelion 3.0 movie, and more.

It’s directed by Shinya Sugai with Netflix’s Daiki Sakurai as executive producer, while Iku Nishimura of Ghost in the Shell: Arise fame designed the characters.

Dragon’s Dogma producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi and Capcom’s Takashi Kitahara also worked on the anime as co-producers.

Here’s how the show is officially described:

“After losing his home to a dragon, Ethan sets out to hunt it down once and for all. A pawn appears by his side and serves to protect his life. But the dangers that lie in wait for Ethan are beyond their imaginations, for when you fight a monster… you just may become one too.”
