New Stardew Valley Mods August 2020

Starting off the list of the best Stardew Valley mods to be released in August 2020 we have one of the most impressive creations granting the player a whole new aquarium to fill with caught fish.

You can access the aquarium from the train station, and donating your fish will have them appear in animated tanks with exhibit information for some big rewards.

This mod also adds a large new beach location with new custom shops including a beach shop for snacks, ice cream shop, and submarine shop for useful fishing supplies.

There is also an achievement and a special reward for donating all the in-game fish to the aquarium.

To top it all off, this mod also allows you to swim in the ocean as well. There are some secrets to this mod too that you can see in the spoiler tags on its Nexus page if you don’t want to find out for yourself while playing.

Surfing Festival

New Stardew Valley Mods August 2020

Sometimes the summer can get a little boring in Stardew Valley, and this mod seeks to fix that by adding a whole new event to enjoy with the townspeople.

On the in-game date of Summer 5, a surfing festival will be held on the beach. It allows you to compete with NPCs to become the ultimate surfing champion.

The beach will be decorated with tiki torches, grass mats, surfboards, and even a little face cut-out stand of a bikini girl to take a picture with.

Out on the water you can take part in a surfing game that shows your laps and rankings on the HUD, and even allows you to get extra speed when using a Stardrop Boost.

The mod page also warns to ‘not put anything weird in the bonfire’. Hmm, wonder what that could be about?

Unlikely Friendships

New Stardew Valley Mods August 2020

All the NPC schedules in the base game are laid out so certain characters are always doing certain activities on any given day.

This mod tweaks those schedules to show characters who often never associate with each other to hang out together more often. Forming some new and unanticipated friendships.

It also adds new events for those featuring characters who are often not seen together, with more events planned to come to the mod in the future.

True Love Abigail Dialog Expansion

New Stardew Valley Mods August 2020

If Abigail is your NPC love interest of choice, then this mod will be a must download.

It adds a whopping 275+ new lines of dialog, greatly expanding the number of interactions you can have with her. The new dialog is love-focused, seeking to enhance your romantic relationship with her.

It states, “as you gain hearts with Abigail, the dialogue in this pack grows more romantic and intimate. It’s meant to make you feel like your relationship with Abigail is thriving and personal.”

Hopefully the mod creator wafflekoan makes other NPC dialog expansions in the future.

Mobile Calendar and TV

While these next two mods are technically different downloads, we are pairing them together because they are similar in function and are also from the same mod creator aedenthorn.

The first mod allows to you carry a mobile calendar with your wherever you go via a calendar app for your mobile phone. This works with the Mobile Phone mod from last month that was featured in our best mods for July 2020 list.

This will allow you to open up your bulletin board calendar from the phone no matter where you are on the map, making NPC birthday checking a breeze.

The second mod adds an app to the same phone that allows your to watch the in-game TV channels wherever you are as well.

This will make it a lot easier to check the Weather Report, Fortune Teller, Livin’ Off The Land, or The Queen of Sauce channels when outside your house.

When you marry an NPC in Stardew Valley they get a special custom room within your farm house with decor and items based on their individual personality.

This mod takes that a step further but also adding new options for your spouse to have their own area in your yard on the house patio as well.

The mod allows you to customize the location and tiles used for the outdoor spouse area for any vanilla or custom NPC using content packs. The content packs for custom NPCs will have to be downloaded separately.

Wind Effects

New Stardew Valley Mods August 2020

All the flora within Stardew Valley is pretty stagnant, but this mod adds new functionality that will allow plants to blow and sway in the breeze with new wind effects.

The wind affects crops, grass, trees, fruit trees, and bushes. It also has the ability to change direction occasionally making it feel slightly more realistic.

By default, the wind will be enabled on 50% of days. There is also the option to tweak this percentage if you want wind to be more or less likely.
