Finding new resources to craft bigger and better structures is a key part of Spiritfarer‘s gameplay loop, but one material in particular might be eluding your sights time and time again. That’s why we’re here to help with a guide on how to get Aluminum in Spiritfarer.
How to Get Aluminum in Spiritfarer
Like with most other materials in Spiritfarer, Aluminum is easy enough to find once you’ve reached a certain point in the game; specifically, the second half of the game where you start to explore areas blocked off by Ice.
Made accessible by getting the Ice Breaker upgrade for your ship, these areas hold new resources for you to uncover via mining, diving at shipwreck locations and purifying the Dragon corrupted by Aluminum nodes on its body.
To get the Ice Breaker upgrade, bring 800 Glims, 10 Iron Ingots, 12 Oak Planks, 18 Linen Fabrics, one Spirit Flower and five Slate Ore to Albert at the Shipyard. Most all of these resources can be found by exploring areas tied to the main story, so if you’re short on any of them, advance your spirits’ quests until you can purchase the ship upgrade.
Where to Get Aluminum Fast
Once your ship has the Ice Breaker upgrade, you can head northwest past the wall of ice to start exploring Spiritfarer’s Aluminum-rich areas.
In particular, you should head for the Aluminum Dragon first. Triggered by advancing the Spirit Summer’s quest, it has large deposits of Aluminum along its body that you can harvest quickly, giving you a surplus of the resource in only a few minutes.
If you haven’t progressed Summer’s questline far enough, then harvesting from Aluminum veins scattered around islands in the area is your next fastest method for gathering the metal, as you can get several chunks per vein versus only a few pieces from diving near shipwrecks.
