Is Microsoft Flight Simulator Open World?

The short answer is yes, the game is open world. You can fly wherever you want in the world, whether you want to look for a famous landmark or your own house, you’ll be able to find them.

The game’s world is created from Bing’s Aerial Maps, streaming information to your game as you travel. As the game’s description reads, “travel the world in amazing detail with over 37 thousand airports, 2 million cities, 1.5 billion buildings, real mountains, roads, trees, rivers, animals, traffic and more.”

However, that doesn’t mean the world in the game is recreated one to one with the real one. While some airports and the aircraft have been created for the game itself, the rest of the world is made on the fly as you play, so will not look as detailed as the airports.

That doesn’t take away from the incredible visuals of the game though. Flying wherever you want, whenever you want, will blow you away, offering a degree of realism that we’ve never seen in a game before.

As we said in our review, “Microsoft Flight Simulator’s sky doesn’t have any limits,” so yes, it is open world.

That’s everything you need to know about whether Microsoft Flight Simulator is open world. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
