Aerosoft, which is one of the biggest third-party add-on providers for various games in the genre, has published the first relatively major airport available for free.

It’s Paderborn/Lippstadt airport in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, and it’s definitely worth downloading from Aerosoft’s website.

It comes with the following features:

  • Detailed recreation of Paderborn airport
  • Custom aerial images covering the airport and surrounding area
  • Current runway, taxiway, and stand layouts
  • Custom taxiway signage
  • Realistic night time lighting
  • Accurate depiction of the terminal interior
  • Custom jetway models
  • Custom windsock models

Given the level of detail, the download isn’t exactly small, requiring 3,6 gigabytes of storage space.

You won’t even need our guide to install free add-ons, because this one comes with its own dedicated installer.

Proud weeb hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long-standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality), MMORPGs, and visual novels are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans on Earth of the flight simulator genre.
