It’s the day that Fortnite fans have seemingly been waiting for for an eternity. Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 has arrived, submerging most of the map underwater, adding in a new Battle Pass with cosmetics, and tossing in a bunch of new weapons and gameplay features to top things off. One of these new features shown off in the trailer was the ability to drive cars in Fortnite. In this guide, we’ll break down what the deal is with Fortnite car locations and how to drive them.
Fortnite Car Locations
Update 08/05/20: Cars have now been added into Fortnite and can be found pretty much anywhere across the map. The best places to find cars are near gas stations, and around named locations. Trucks can also be driven, so if you see any on the road hop on in.
Update 08/04/20: Epic Games has today released a teaser for cars coming to Fortnite on Wednesday, Aug. 5. The Fortnite Joy Ride update appears to finally be bringing drivable cars to the Battle Royale mode.
We’ll update this post again tomorrow once the update goes live with all car locations in Fortnite.
Original Post: At this moment in time, unfortunately, you won’t be able to find any cars in Fortnite. That’s because as far as we can tell, cars have yet to be added into the game.
As Fortnite tends to get a new update each week on a Tuesday or Wednesday, it’s highly likely that cars will be added into the Battle Royale experience in the near future. Once they are live in Fortnite, we’ll be sure to update this post with a map of all car locations in the game, alongside a comprehensive breakdown of how to drive.
How to Drive a Car
To drive a car, you’ll want to press RT/ R2 to accelerate, the left analog stick to steer, and LT/ L2 to brake.
Some cars, like the sporty-looking Whiplash also have a boost feature. To use this, press and hold B on Xbox One, or Circle on PS4 to continuously boost.
You can also turn the radio on and off with Y/ Triangle.
