The crowdfunding campaign has now passed $3.2 million (it’s at $3,200,743 at the moment of this writing) which means that more stretch goals have been achieved since the latest report.

The fan-voted 109th hero is in, alongside a “flag design mode.”

Further goals have been revealed. Another Story: Marisa will come at $3.25 million and will be the first DLC that backers will receive for free.

$3.325 million will unlock a farming system that might delight the Story of Seasons fans among us.

$3.425 and $3.6 million will bring two more unrevealed goals titled “I Challenge You!” and “All Hands on Deck.”

Here’s an explanation of the new goals.

  • Flag Design Mode – Nothing raises morale like a flag to call your own. At this stretch goal, you will be able to design your army’s flag. Make it something special, because you’ll be marching underneath that symbol into battle.
  • Another Story: Marisa – This is our first DLC pack that backers will receive for FREE. Experience Marisa’s journey through the world of Eiyuden Chronicle in this 5-10 hour additional adventure.
  • Farm System – At this stretch goal, you’ll be able to build a farm in your Fortress Town, grow crops to feed your troops, and even sell some on the market to make a pretty penny. It may even become a valuable source of income.

We also get an update unveiling two previously-unlocked characters.

Gocteau

PROFESSION: Guild leader

FAVORITE FOOD: Steak topped with plenty of garlic

An influential leader of several guilds. That grin of his seems amiable enough, but this is a man who has been through hell, more times than one. When trouble goes down, Gocteau gets a look in his eye that scares the pants off the younger guildsmen.

He loves to gamble, but rarely wins.

QUOTE:

“Heaven hadn’t even shat you down to earth yet when I started working this business. So do us all a favor, clam it, and watch a master ply his trade.”

Iris

HOME: The University of Carles

FAVORITE FOOD: Black tea, and biscuits to go with it

An architect who graduated from the League of Nation’s prestigious University of Carles. She’s usually quite pleasant to chat with, but when it comes to her trade, she can’t shut up. Mention the word “gables” and you’re in for an hour-long ode to the perfect slope—and don’t even get her started about gambrels!

QUOTE:

“Oh, hello there! Come in, don’t be shy. This is a happy space! That’s what they pay me to build. I know, I live a charmed life.”

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes’ campaign was launched on Kickstarter less than a couple of weeks ago, reaching its basic founding goal in two hours and unlocking console platforms shortly after.

As usual, the success of this campaign shouldn’t be too surprising considering that it brings back together Suikoden creators Yoshitaka Murayama and Junko Kawano, and appears to be a spiritual successor of the popular franchise.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes will come to PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and a possible next-gen Nintendo platform in fall 2022.

You can still contribute to the campaign yourself at the official Kickstarter site. Speaking of Kickstarter, for the sake of full disclosure, you should keep in mind that the author of this article is among the backers of the game.
