Today, during the Dragon Ball FighterZ Show that is currently being livestreamed, producer Tomoko Hiroki talked to the fans via a video message.
According to Hiroki-san, who thanked all the fans for their continued support, the team would like to implement rollback netcode but it’s technically difficult to support
We also hear that developers are planning an update with adjustments focusing on characters whose Z-assists aren’t used as well as a “few other tweaks.”
The team is also planning to address rage quits by identifying players that disconnect on purpose.
We also get the announcement of the Dragon Ball FighterZ National Championship.
It’ll actually involve five national championships between October and December from Spain, USA East Coast, USA West Coast, France, and Japan.
The event is limited to these countries to avoid lag as much as possible, considering that it’ll be fought online.
Eight of the best players will be invited to the championships. Each will start with a round-robin followed by playoffs.
Each match will determine its winner via a first-to-five setup and the first four of each round-robin will enter the playoffs.
The names of the selected players will be selected in September during the next Dragon Ball FighterZ Show in which we’ll also get a showcase of Master Roshi (funnily, his name was in a slide shown before the official announcement) who is coming as a DLC character. Expect his announcement trailer later today.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is currently available for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. It sold over five million copies as of May 2020.
